Bon Jovi are said to be “sorely disappointed” after tickets for their show free concert in New York emerged on eBay.
In a post on their website, which has since been removed, the band said they “have always had the best interest of the fans at heart” with the concert, which is due to take place this weekend.
60,000 tickets for the event in Central Park were given away to fans at various outlets in New York but recent reports revealed that some tickets had begun to exchange hands on eBay for upwards of $1000.
The message on Bon Jovi's website, which was copied before it was removed, is understood to have said that “no good deed goes unpunished”.
“There are reports in the media about tickets being scalped for... the free concert. I for one am not surprised, but our organisation is sorely disappointed.”
