Fatboy Slim has revealed that he is producing songs on the second Jack Penate album.
The DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, said the collaboration came about after the pair realised they both liked the same records.
"We were doing a tune and I said I wanted to achieve the same atmosphere as 'The Only Living Boy In New York' by Simon and Garfunkel. Jack was like, 'oh that's one of my favourite songs',” he said.
“So, we share the same influences and hence came up with the same music."
Penate is currently working on the follow-up to 2007's 'Matinee', which debuted at number seven in the charts, in London.
Speaking to BBC 6Music, Cook revealed that the pair had developed a very close father-son bond.
"He's a fantastic musician and I've really enjoyed working with him. He calls me dad and very time I text him I call him son.
"I think He's very proud to have me as a dad and I'm very proud to have him as a son,” he said.
It's not clear when the album will be released.
Speaking to Gigwise last week, Cook revealed that he would release his own studio album later this year. Click here for details.
