Meat Loaf Responds After Fans Walk Out Of Concert
Share

Meat Loaf has responded after fans criticised his performance at the Broadlands Festival in Hampshire last weekend.

A review of the festival, which also saw sets from Boyzone and Katie Melua, claims that some fans left the concert before Meat Loaf had finished.

Other fans have left comments which attack the quality of Meat Loaf's vocal performance during his show.

A spokesperson for the star, David Cox, told the BBC that there were “no problems” with the sound and that the singer “does not drink".

Mr Cox also added that meat Loaf had been receiving “vocal training” since he was diagnosed with acute laryngitis last year.

"Meat Loaf put on the kind of fantastic show fans have come to expect," he added.

  • Meat Loafs performance was great - I found the sound would come and go, being blown by the wind (hardly Meats fault) so moved to the left of the stage and got the full Meat effect. Stop moaning - there was nothing wrong with his performance, only let down by the English ’Summer’’

  • I have seen Meat many times before but would never see him again. This is one tour too many. The poor sound quality may have been down to weather conditions but his voice was weak and his words slurred. We were 100m to the left of the stage and could hear all the backing singers clearly and as usual they were excellent. We stayed until he began to murder Bat Out Of Hell, then could bare no more. Such a shame as Meat has always been such a massive star. Pearl was very good too. Sorry Meat.

  • Ignore the negative comments, Meat, like others have said here, it was an overall excellent performace for a guy who has had vocal and heart problems. Hope I have half the energy and dynamism of someone your age. Feel privelged that I have seen you in concert and so is my girlfriend, a life long fan, who was grinning throughout the whole show. I hope those trying to seek refunds are told where to go!
