Kings Of Leon frontman, Caleb Followill, confessed that the Danes have the upper hand over UK festivals as they played Roskilde main stage at sundown today.
“We’ve played some pretty big festivals already on this tour – we’ve played one small one and one pretty big one,” Caleb said, referring to their performance at Glastonbury a week ago, “but I’ve gotta say, this is my favourite crowd.”
He went on to toast the audience with a shot of whisky and a grimace saying, “Hey y’all, we had no idea you were going to be so amazing so here’s to y’all.”
The Nashville rockers looked quite at home as the dust settled in the early evening light after a sweltering day of music and revelry at Denmark’s premier rock music event.
They played two new tracks as well as favourites from last year’s album, ‘Because Of The Times’, and some gems from the backcatalogue, including ‘Molly’s Chambers’ and ‘Spiral Staircase’.
Kings Of Leon continue their European tour in Belgium and Paris in the coming days, before returning to the UK for T in The Park in Scotland on July 13th.
