Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he re-wrote the lyrics to the Ting Ting's song, 'That's Not My Name', which he recently covered, while stuck in traffic.
Rascal covered the band's number one single earlier this week on Radio 1's live lounge, changing the lyrics to include several references to his record label Dirty Stank.
Speaking to the BBC, the rapper said: “It was fun doing that Ting Tings cover and it was nice to flip the lyrics.
"I was on the motorway stuck in traffic thinking of the lyrics I was going to switch up and change and I started learning them."
The rapper also revealed that he hopes to work with the band, having met them at the Glastonbury Festival, and also Franz Ferdinand on new material.
“I'd love to collaborate with The Ting Tings on a song. I met them at Glastonbury and I told them I was going to do this cover and I said, 'We should work together as well and Franz Ferdinand',” he said.
"I'm working on my album now so we'll see what happens. I wouldn't mind doing some work with the Arctic Monkeys again too but I haven't had a chance to speak to them yet. "
As previously reported on Gigwise, Dizzee Rascal is expected to capture the number one spot this weekend with 'Dance Wiv Me', his collaboration with Calvin Harris.
