System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian has told Gigwise that it is unlikely his old band will reunite any time soon.
Malakian, alongside System drummer John Dolmayan, are set to make their return to the music scene with new band Scars On Broadway, following the success of frontman Serj Tankian’s solo project.
When System called a halt to their time in the band, many were led to believe that a reunion would occur in the near future.
Malakian does not share the same beliefs as he explains: “If someday it feels right for us to do then we’ll do it but as of right now I’m really focussed on this and I want to take this to different levels and so does John.
“We don’t talk about System, we don’t talk about doing System. If it does happen I see it being very very far down the line.”
Stay tuned to Gigwise for the full interview later today.
