Kanye West has responded to reports that Amy Winehouse called him a “c*nt” during her appearance at the Glastonbury Festival on Saturday (June 28th).

It has been claimed that Winehouse changed the lyrics her track 'Some Unholy War' in order to make reference to the controversy surrounding West's recent appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival.

Fans have claimed that Winehouse sang:  "At least I'm not opening for a c*nt like Kanye."

In a message on his blog, West, who has never knowingly had a public feud with the singer, wrote: “This just in... Amy Whinehouse [sic] hates me!!! Now I've really made it!!! lol!!!!”

Winehouse's performance on Saturday, her first full set in the UK in over half a year, was not without controversy. Towards the end of her set she appeared to throw a punch at a fan in the crowd.

The victim, James Gostelow, has since come forward and said that he believed he had been the victim of mistaken identity and that Winehouse lashed out after someone threw a hat at her.

Mr Gostelow also said he would not take the matter to the police - despite Winehouse's elbow apparently catching him on the forehead.

  • The rich and famous can get away with anything. It makes me think there is no hope for us as humans when someone is so obviously off their face and needs some kind of help, throwing punches and everybody still cheers.

  • I dont understand why the press seem to allow her to get away with such disgusting behaviour, and we appear to be expected to hold her up as some sort of icon who can totally abuse the system and nothing gets said, what sort of an example is this to our children. I watched with horror on Saturday Night when she was unable to string a sentence together, stand upright and then proceeded to throw punches into the crowd..........God help us.

  • She was so off her face it was unbelievable, she nearly fell over like 5 times when she went out to the crowd, i had to laugh. She looked like such a pratt and set a bad example, especially if there were kids there and she was using attrocious language like that!
