Actor Pierce Brosnan has acknowledged that he has put his “neck out on the line” to appear in a new film adaptation of the Abba musical Mamma Mia.
Brosnan, who played James Bond in four editions of the spy film, said he was motivated by the challenege of shifting the play from stage to screen.
"That was what was so much fun about it,” he told the BBC.
Brosnan, who stars in the movie alongside Meryl Streep and Colin Firth, said it was the last role he expected to be offered.
"To see an ex-MI6 thespian singing and dancing in the world of Mamma Mia... people are going to howl,” he said.
The movie is released in the UK next month and will receive its world premiere in London tonight (June 30th).
