Black Lips reveal they were slightly dissapointed with their set on the John Peel stage this evening.
Dispite a typically energetic set which included guitarist Ian Saint Pé smashing a beer can over his head and draping lit firecrackers from his mouth, the band were obviously disheartened.
Joe Bradley explained to Gigwise after the set: "We don't really transfer that well onto big stages. We've got to learn better ways to do it."
The distance between the stage and the audience was an obvious factor in the bands concerns as Ian summed up simply by saying: "we never have, or are, like that (distance friendly) we're a people's band."
The band did however give some insight into forthcoming material. Joe said: "As soon as we go home from here we're going to start recording our new record - we've got tons of new material that we're itching to record."
Another upcoming opportunity for the band is a starring role in a fortcoming film, Joe gave an update on the situation.
"That's still kind of on the back burner because there's conflicting schedules, we have to prioritise.
"The director of the film is a high school teacher so he can't shoot during the school year. We still want to do it but it's a matter of getting it done."
The band were also joind by Har Mar Superstar tonight as he danced around to the band's single 'Bad Kids.'
Stay tuned to Gigwise for more from the festival.
