Estelle was fired up for her Glastonbury performance last night and explained how Jay-Z is the benchmark for everyone.
Sat in her dressing room with one man doing the ironing, while she was receiving a neck and shoulder massage, the singer told Gigwise that Glastonbury “is something to tell you’re kids about, so I’m excited to be here.”
Last time she was here she went out to perform and the mic cut, leaving her to accept a chorus of boo’s. She assured Gigwise nothing like that was going to happen this time round.
Having just got back from performing with Jay-Z in Ireland we ask her about the Hip Hop star’s headline performance.
“If his show is anything like the one he did in Dublin last night then that’s good.”
We chatted about special guests to which she revealed “Yesterday his special appearance was Bono. He was screaming 'Jay-Z’s a Dub.' It was insane.”
The Londerner voiced much praise for the artist before concluding “Jigga’s the guy to beat.”
It’s been a great year for the star who received huge success with the Kanye West collaborated track ‘American Boy’.
Speaking of the success she said “I wrote that as a joke and then all of a sudden it’s number one. I’m still not changing and going to speak my mind and people respect that.
Summing up the year she added: “I’ve been tired as hell but I’ve had so much fun.”
Stay tuned to Gigwise for all the gossip as and when we get it.
