Leona Lewis said she found it very emotional performing for Nelson Mandela at a concert in London yesterday (June 27th).
The former X-Factor winner, who was making a rare live appearance in the United Kingdom, was among a host of stars who played in London’s Hyde Park.
As well as marking the 90th birthday of Mr Mandela, the concert also raised money for his 46664 aids charity.
Speaking after her performance, Lewis said it was “a really emotional moment”.
"There were definitely a few tears. My auntie and grandmother would tell me stories about Nelson Mandela,” she said.
“I never dreamed I would be up there singing at his birthday celebration. It was very emotional performing for him."
Amy Winehouse, Razorlight and Queen also performed at the event. To watch Winehouse’s show, CLICK HERE.
