The 2008 edition of the Vital festival in Belfast has been cancelled because organisers have struggled to book acts for the event.
They blamed the sheer number of festivals in the United Kingdom, understood to be around 500, for the cancellation.
In previous years, the Vital festival, which takes place in Ormeau Park, has seen performances from Kings of Leon and The Killers.
But, in a statement, Tom McCusker, said that this year the event had found it hard to attract "top acts within a climate of apparent over-saturated scheduling of talent at this level".
Tennent's, the company behind the festival, said they still hoped to continue their relationship with Northern Ireland.
