The blogger who leaked nine tracks from Guns N Roses forthcoming ‘Chinese Democracy’ album has been caught by the FBI.
Kevin Skwerl was visited by agents on Monday (June 23) after he posted the songs on his Antiquiet blog, which he received from “an anonymous online source.”
The blogger was apparently “ambushed” by the agents who were waiting for him. He explained to Rolling Stone: “When I came back from lunch they were waiting in the lobby for me. It’s a little creepy they know where I work.”
Skwerl was forced to remove the tracks immediately after Axl Rose’s attorneys got in touch with him. He was surprised by the visit because he had a somewhat civil conversation with a member of the Guns N’Roses team.
“It was a really cool guy from the G n' R camp that was a middle man between someone who was very angry and me. He was trying to reach out and see if I'd go without a fight, which is more or less what I did,” said Skwerl.
It is reported that the agents were seeking access to the original files that Skwerl had erased. However, because they no longer existed Skwerl was forced to hand over second hand files which are available to download on the Internet.
There’s a lesson kids, don’t download music and don’t piss off Axl Rose.
