US rapper 50 Cent has reacted angrily after an American fast-food chain challenged him to change his name for a new advertising campaign.
Taco Bell said they would donate $10,000 to a charity of the rapper's choice if he changed his name to either 79,89 or 99 Cent in order to promote the company's new value meal deal.
Responding to the challenge, the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, said it was “a sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt by Taco Bell's president, Greg Creed, whose disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent's agent yesterday."
In an interview with OK, Jackson appeared to threaten the company with legal action.
"When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: 'We messed with the bull and got the horns'," he said.
