Oasis Strike Three Album Deal With SonyBMG
Oasis have signed a new long term record deal with SonyBMG, it's been announced.
The deal, signed in conjunction with their own record label, Big Brother Recordings, includes the bands next three studio albums and the distribution rights to their back-catalogue.
The joint deal means that the bands material will be released on Big Brother via a profit share arrangement with SonyBMG.
Alec McKinlay of Ignition management, who helped broker the deal, described the agreement as “imaginative and exciting”.
“This allows the band to take advantage of all the opportunities presented by the new business models available today as well as remaining totally in control of their own destiny,” he added.
Ged Doherty, Sony BMG UK chairman and CEO, echoed McKinlay's words, saying: “Oasis are in complete control of their destiny and could have chosen to sign with anyone - or even go it alone - so I am delighted that they have chosen to continue to work with us.”
The deal includes the bands new as-yet-untitled studio album, which is expected in September.
