The Zutons frontman Dave McCabe says he is concerned that Amy Winehouse, who recently covered one of the band's songs, has “gone too far.”
McCabe questioned whether the singer, who is battling a well publicised problem with drugs, really wanted to receive treatment.
“I hope Amy sorts it out. But does she wanna sort it out? Because the way she’s being treated now, I think it may have gone too far,” he told Virgin Radio.
“She’s like, ‘You know, I can’t even be bothered dealing with all this situation’. She might just like to be a husky singer in a shady club, which could be good as well.
“I hope she sorts it out. I hope she becomes happy, and if she’s happy now then fair enough.”
Winehouse covered The Zuton's 'Valerie' last year and the song has gone on to become a feature in the singer's own live shows.
