Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has revealed that he is currently recording his debut solo album.
The guitarist said that he was using his time off from Velvet Revolver, which was instigated following the departure of singer Scott Weliand, to do as much work as possible on the record.
“I'm working on it pretty aggressively right now while I have the time 'cause as soon as Velvet finds its singer, then it's going to be off the races with that,2 he said.
"I'm using this little period to be able to do as much on my solo record as possible. I'm not sure exactly when it will come out, but hopefully it will come out before the (next) Velvet record,” he told Spinner.
Slash said that he intended to put personal feelings on the album, but didn't elaborate as to what they would be.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Weiland split acrimoniously from Velvet Revolver earlier this year. The band have since been linked with using a reality TV show to find a new singer.
