Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has joined the judging panel on the reality TV show X-Factor, it's been announced.
Cole will takeover from Sharon Osbourne, who quit the show last week.
Osbourne revealed earlier this week that the show's producers had approached both Cole and former Spice Girl Mel B to fill the position.
The Girls Aloud singer will join the shows creator Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on the panel.
In a statement, Cole said it was a “massive honour” to be asked on the show and that production, which begins next week, wouldn't affect her singing career.
"The rest of the girls have said they're right behind me, which is really important for me as it will be weird to be on the other side of the fence this time,” she said.
X-Factor, which last year crowned Leona Lewis as its winner, will be broadcast later this summer.
