Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has described Amy Winehouse as “the best singer I've heard in my life, apart from Beyonce.”
Martin's comments came in an interview with MTV, in which he described both singers as “beyond brilliant.”
“When you’re as talented as Amy or Beyonce you only have to have good songs,” he added.
Martin is friends with US R&B star Beyonce through her marriage to rapper Jay-Z – who he collaborated with last year.
Coldplay release their latest album 'Viva La Vida or Death and all His Friends' on Thursday (June 12th).
As Gigwise reported earlier, pre-sales for the record have broken records with some retailers, suggesting that the album will capture the number one spot on Sunday.

- what da fuck is that question!!! its clear that Beyonce is much better singer then those two they both crap Beyonce is the most talented singer in the world everybody loves her she just an amazing singer. xxx
- i love beyonce a lot and hate it when people diss her (i really know that they are just jealous) and i hate it when people compare her to rihanna!!!! rihanna is no where near beyonces talent etc but i have to admit, amy whinehouse has an amazin really different voice, but she has literally thrown that talent away and wasting her life. amy cant really hit the high notes like beyonce though... they are both equally as good as each other.

- amy is mental...no offense but its true. you can tell she wants attention from the press. christina aguilera has the best vocals. she has talent and is not craving attention like some other singers we know.
