Third Babyshambles Album Influenced By Kraftwerk and Dolly Parton

The third Babyshambles album could sound like a mind-boggling mix of “Dolly Parton, Kraftwerk and Rage Against the Machine”, Gigwise can exclusively reveal.

The band's drummer Adam Ficek popped by Gigwise Towers yesterday for our weekly Tuborg Webchat Wednesday to promote his solo venture Roses, Kings, Castles.

As well as speaking about his solo work, Ficek confirmed that the follow-up to 'Shotter's Nation' should see the light of day in early 2009. Questioned about the new material sounds like he joked: “Our influences are Kraftwerk, Dolly Parton and RATM!”

Asked whether his solo work takes precedent over Babyshambles, Ficek commented: “No - Babyshambles is strong, Peter is doing his solo thing - it's a healthy thing.”

Elsewhere, Ficek admitted that going it alone with Roses, Kings Castles is a daunting prospect: “It's scary doing solo stuff even the limited amount of shows I've done was a scary prospect, the band stuff (with Babyshambles) is less nerve racking as there's always someone there to cover your back.”

He also passed comment the way Radiohead self-leaked In Rainbows, saying: “I think the music sharing thing is fine for established artists, it's a harder deal for bands that are starting out and trying to earn some money from their art.”

Log in to Tuborg Webchat Wednesday next week when the Infadels will be taking part from 4pm.
