Gossip's Beth Ditto Slams Fern Britton's Gastric Band

Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto has hit out at television presenter Fern Britton, who recently revealed that a gastric band was behind her dramatic weight loss.

Speaking at the Glamour awards, Ditto said that “big girls should be proud of their bodies.”

"I don't believe people should feel the need to take drastic action,” she told the Mirror.

Britton, who presents This Morning, was forced to admit undergoing the operation on Sunday after a newspaper threatened to expose the star.

Previously, it had been understood that Britton’s weight loss was down to a healthier diet, although the presenter claims that she never said that was the case.
