This year’s edition of the Blissfields Festival in Winchester has been cancelled because of poor ticket sales.
The festival was due to take place from July 4th-6th with scheduled performances from The Whip and Roni Size.
However, organisers said that had been left “devastated” by the tickets sales, which they said “could not have foreseen”.
“With such low sales, not only are the financial burdens to ourselves incredibly high, but we would not have been able to put on an event with the atmosphere and passion that festival goers expect,” explained Paul and Mel Bliss, the events founders.
“This would have been disappointing for those attending and left us with an insurmountable problem in staging an event for next year.”
Refunds for those who purchased tickets are available now from point of purchase. Preparations for next year’s event are understood to be in progress.
