The Zutons have said that there is no chance that the band will ever come a song by Amy Winehouse.
Winehouse famously covered the bands song ‘Valerie’ with Mark Ronson last year and the track has fast become a live favourite in her set.
Despite admitting in the past that they are fans of the singer's cover, Zutons frontman Dave McCabe says they are unlikely to return the compliment.
“No, not at all. We wouldn't do it. It would be like a weird version of her songs. I think she's done ours good,” he said.
The Zutons saxophonist Abi Harding echoed McCabe’s comments, saying that Winehouse “doesn't need” them to cover her material.
“I really like her songs, but loads of people have covered her stuff so if we were gonna do a cover, we'd probably wanna do something that no one has done, be a bit more original than that," she said.
