Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis turned down a personal offer from Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour to perform at this year’s festival, according to reports.
Floyd is understood to have contacted Mr Eavis earlier this year about whether he could joined scheduled headliners jay-Z, The Verve and Kings of Leon.
Although Mr Eavis was apparently “grateful for the offer” he turned it down because “he wants the event to appeal to a younger generation and feels that Dave wouldn’t,” a source told the Sun newspaper.
This year’s Glastonbury Festival, which takes place from June 27th-29th, has yet to sell out.
The slow ticket sales have been blamed on the line up and recent editions of the festival that were affected by bad weather.
