Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon, will attend Sir Paul McCartney’s concert at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool later today (June 1st).
"Of course I am going to be there. I'm looking forward to it,” she told the BBC.
Ono added that she felt the concert was part of a “very special weekend” for the city.
McCartney will be joined by Kaiser Chiefs, the Zutons and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for the performance.
The concert is the centerpiece of Liverpool’s celebrations as the 2008 Capital of Culture for Europe.
McCartney has promised that the gig will feature some surprise appearances and a collection of old favorites from his song library.
Although he remained tight lipped on his guests, he did rule out a collaboration with ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, saying that it “was never going to be on the cards”.
