My Chemical Romance fans will today march in London against media organisations that brand emo music a suicide cult.
The march, which will culminate at the offices of the Daily Mail newspaper, follows the death of teenager Hannah Bond.
Bond, 13, hung herself from a bunk bed in her bedroom after telling her parents that she was going to kill herself.
An inquest into her death was told that the teenager had lived a double life and was a devout following of emo music.
The coroner in the inquest, Roger Sykes, said he found elements of the emo movement “very disturbing”.
Bond’s death was widely reported by the media, including the Daily Mail – who said that "no child was safe from the sinister cult of emo".
Fans contacted Gigwise about the newspaper’s claims, and also to express their sadness over the teenager’s death.
You can read what they said HERE.
What do you think about today’s march? Is it right that people stand up for emo music? Let us know by posting a comment below...

The protest isnt defending ’emo’ we all hate emo, the protest is defending MCR and the fact the daily mail are accusing them of promoting suicide

- MCR also has lyrics on their last song: ”I am not afraid to keep on living” - not to mention MCR is and always have been vocally anti-violence and anti-suicide.
