This years Glastonbury Festival could once again be plagued by bad weather after advance forecasts suggested that Britain could face above-average rainfall this summer.
Speaking to Gigwise, a spokesperson for the Met Office said it was too early to give an exact prediction for the festival – which takes place from June 27th-29th.
However, the Met Office said that “there is a risk of more unsettled spells and near or above-average rainfall” throughout the summer.
The Met Office’s advance forecast is derived from global forecasting models and statistical methods, and all variations are conveyed using 1971-2000 averages.
Despite the chance of rain, summer temperatures are expected to be above the 1971-2000 average, the spokesperson added.
Recent bad weather is one reason why ticket sales for this year’s festival are believed to have been slower than usual.
If you have pre-registered, you can still purchase tickets for the event. Check out our new look Festival Guide for more information.
