Ashlee Simpson And Pete Wentz Expecting First Child

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and pop star Ashlee Simpson have confirmed that they are expecting their first child together.

The couple, who married earlier this month in California, said they were delighted to share “the most joyous time in our lives” with people.

In a joint statement, they also addressed the speculation that had mounted over recent weeks, saying that they wanted to wait until the first trimester before confirming the pregnancy.

Wentz and Simpson met in 2006 but only confirmed their engagement at the beginning of April.

They exchanged vows in front of approximately 150 family members and friends at Simpson’s parent’s home in San Fernando Valley on May 17th.
