The Ting Tings have shot straight to number one with their debut album ‘We Started Nothing.’
The Salford duo - Katie White and Jules de Martino - knocked music legend Neil Diamond from his brief residence at the top spot with ‘Home Before Dark.’
The Ting Tings’ single ‘That’s Not My Name’, which was number one last week, slipped to two to be replaced by Rihanna’s ‘Take A Bow.’
Amazingly a group of Austrian monks called The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz, entered at number nine with ‘Chant - Music For Paradise.’ All proceeds from the album of Georgian chants will be used to fund the education of other monks in Vietnam.
Elsewhere in the album chart top ten, Neil Diamond had a second entry at eight with his best of album, while Duffy’s dominance continued at three with ‘Rockferry.’
