Organisers have blamed the difficult economic climate for the cancellation of the Wax:On Live festival in Leeds.
The event was due to take place on May 31st with headlining performances from Primal Scream and Hercules and Love Affair.
But promoter Dan Blackledge said that “due to circumstances in the global financial market place and its knock on effect” the event had become “unsustainable”.
“We send out most sincere apologies to all of you that have bought tickets. We threw everything we had at the event to try and make it go ahead and we’re really disappointed we couldn’t see it through,’’ Blackledge added.
Organisers stressed that the cancellation had nothing to do with ticket sales.
Ticket agents have been instructed to refund all pre-purchased tickets to the festival. For more information, check out our new look Festival Guide.
