More David Bowie David Bowie has denied reports in the UK media linking his music to a forthcoming musical.
A spokesperson for the singer’s publisher said they have “never been requested to and we do not intend to” license songs for theatrical use.
Last week it was claimed that Bowie would be bringing the 1976 sci-fi film The Man Who Fell To Earth to the stage alongside director Peter Schaufuss.
"We are close to the Walter Tevis Estate and we have and have first hand knowledge that they have not licensed the musical rights to The Man Who Fell To Earth to Schaufuss either,” a statement from RZO music added.
There has been a resurgence of music inspired shows on stage over recent years with the stories of Queen and Abba becoming must see West End productions.
