    It will now be untitled...

Nas’s new album will now be untitled after the US rapper decided to drop the proposed title, ‘****’.

The rapper said it was “important” that the album, which will now be released on July 1st, “gets to fans”.

"It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages,” he said.

Nas was widely criticised about the proposed title for the album, changing its name from ‘****’ to ‘****’ at the end of last year.

Civil Rights figures, including Reverend Jesse Jackson, were amongst the high profile names to question the controversial title.

In a recent interview with MTV, Nas said that he accepted that stores might be reluctant to stock the record, but said that people were “being scared of what’s real.”

Speaking to Billboard yesterday (May 19th), the rapper said that “the people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."
