The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard has revealed that the band are his revenge against a former music teacher.
Pritchard, who said he was “motivated” by the rejection, said he had the perfect way to repay his former teacher.
“At school my music teacher told me over and over again that I was wasting my time and should try a different profession.”
“I think I’ll send him a platinum Kooks album one day,” Pritchard told the Daily Star.
Last week, Pritchard revealed that The Kooks are in an ongoing feud with Arctic Monkeys and that he once kicked frontman Alex Turner in the head at a festival.
“I had to kick Alex in the face because he was trying to pull the leads out of my guitar pedals while we were on stage,” he said.
