Former Scotland Yard commander John O’Connor has accused Amy Winehouse of getting away with “openly taking drugs”.
Mr O’Connor said the singer, who was told yesterday (May 14th) that she would face no further action over a video which supposedly showed her smoking crack cocaine, is “cooking a snook at the law.”
“She’s openly taking drugs and getting away with it. It’s an absolute scandal that nothing can be done,” Mr O’Connor told the Sun.
Winehouse was questioned by police earlier this month over the video, which was handed to officers in January.
After reviewing the case, however, the Crown Prosecution Service decided that no further action should be taken.
In response, the singer’s spokesman said his client was “pleased to be able to move on.”
On hearing the news, Conservative MP Anne Widdecombe has accused Winehouse of being “an appalling role model”.
“But she cannot be made an example of until action is taken against her,” the MP added.
Winehouse spent Tuesday evening celebrating Pete Doherty's prison gig. You can see the pictures below...
