Coldplay frontman Chris Martin admitted that relations between the band broke down before they started recording their fourth album ‘Viva La Vida.’
Gwyneth Paltrow’s other half said the foursome weren’t even speaking to each other, in fact it was only when they hooked up with the record’s producer Brian Eno that their bond was rekindled.
The 31-year-old explained: “The place we got to two years ago felt dirty. We weren’t speaking. We all had our corner office in a tower block, but there was no vibe.
“We had to get our own place and call Brian (Eno) in. We decided to play in a little room, forget our awards and reviews.”
He went on to say that after a difficult time, the band buried their differences and brushed the pressures aside to produce ‘Viva La Vida.’ The record is released on June 12 through EMI.
