German techno band Scooter have gone straight in at number 1 on the UK album charts.
‘Jumping All Over the World’, which is the group’s first UK album since 2002, pushed Madonna’s ‘Hard Candy’ down to number 2.
The band’s number 1 comes as a shock after their two previous singles failed to break into the Singles top-40.
Elsewhere in the album chart, Portishead’s ‘Third’ fell to number 5, while Def Leppard’s new album, ‘Songs from the Sparkle Lounge’, debuted at number 10.
In the Singles chart, the top-3 remained unchanged, with Madonna’s ‘4 Minutes’, which features Justin Timberlake, holding onto number 1.
As previously reported, Madonna played tracks from her new album at last weekend’s One Big Weekend.
