US rapper DMX has been arrested over suspected drug and animal cruelty offences, police authorities in Arizona have said.
The rapper, who was arrested earlier this week over speeding charges, initially tried to barricade himself into his bedroom when police raided his home on Friday (May 9th) morning.
Search warrants were issued for the rapper’s property in North Phoenix after a search last year alleged that dogs were being abused on his property.
Detectives retrieved 12 pit bulls during the search, along with dog remains and marijuana, according to the Associated Press.
DMX was arrested on Tuesday after he was identified driving at speeds upwards of 114mph along freeway in January.
The rapper has had a number of run-ins with the law over recent years, including a 70 day prison term in 2005 for parole violation.
Bail for the rapper was set at $7,500 yesterday.
