Kaiser Chiefs have been unveiled as special guests for Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Sound concert on June 1st.
The event at Anfield football stadium is part of Liverpool’s reign as the European Capital of Culture.
Additional names are expected to be announced over coming weeks, including “a very special international superstar guest”.
“It should be a whole lot of fun,” McCartney said in statement.
“Final details of the concert have yet to be announced, so I don’t want to give too much away.”
Today’s announcement coincides with the news that 4,000 extra tickets for the concert have been put on sale after it was agreed that the stadium’s capacity could be increased.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. For more information, check out our new look Gig Guide.
