Guy Garvey: 'James Blunt Song Is The Devil's Sh*t'

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has described James Blunt’s number one song ‘You’re Beautiful’ as the “devil’s shit”.

Garvey said the song, which topped the charts in the UK and America in 2005, was “taking up space in my brain that better songs could be using instead."

“For me, it was like James Blunt was following me around, stalking me, for three weeks,” Garvey said, in an interview with MusicOMH.

“Now, I'm sure he's a charming fellah, but having Mr Blunt following you around for three weeks, singing that song...well, you get the picture.”

‘You’re Beautiful’, which appeared on Blunt’s debut album ‘Back To Bedlam’, is the world’s third most successful song since 1998, according to the United World Chart.

Elbow will release their new single ‘One Day Like This’, the second from their latest album ‘The Seldom Seen kid’, on June 2nd.

The band are due to play a special concert in Delamere Forest in Cheshire on June 16th and tickets are on sale through Gigwise.
