Mariah Carey Relatives Say Singer 'Married Actor In Secret Ceremony'

Relatives of US singer Mariah Carey have reportedly confirmed that she married actor Nick Cannon in a secret ceremony last Wednesday.

The couple apparently exchanged vows in the Bahamas, just over a month after they met on the video shoot for Carey’s new single ‘Bye Bye’.

"He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him,” Linda Cannon, a relative of the actor, told E!

Another US entertainment website, People, claimed that the Bishop of the National Church of God in the Caribbean had told them he had overseen the wedding.

The supposed ceremony came just days after Carey was seen wearing a ring on her engagement finger at a film festival in New York.

Despite the apparent confirmation from relatives, many sources have maintained that the wedding is a publicity stunt for the singer’s new album.
