Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson stopped working together on a possible James Bond theme because the singer had “other ideas”, her spokesman has said.
Ronson, Winehouse’s longtime producer and friend, said earlier this week that the pair had stopped work on the song because Winehouse “was not ready to record any music”.
However, speaking to the BBC, Winehouse’s spokesman said that the singer “always made her own decisions about her music.”
“Needless to say, this is part of the process between artist and producer and we're sure they will continue to make great music together," he added.
Despite her ongoing personal problems, Winehouse had been hotly tipped to sing the theme for the latest edition of the Bond franchise, Quantum of Solace, which is released this November.
Previously Ronson had said that Winehouse was one of a number of artists who were competing to sing the coveted song.
"Hopefully it will get used. But I don't think we’ve been guaranteed it, so we're working on it and we'll see happens,” the producer said, in an interview last Monday (April 28th).
