Pearl Jam have begun work on their ninth studio album, guitarist Mike McCready has revealed.
The record is in its early stages and the band are working with producer Brendan O’Brien for the first time since 1998’s ‘Yield’.
McCready told Rolling Stone: “It’s really in its infant stages right now. We have about five ideas that have been worked on.”
On working with O’Brien, he added: “Brendan is another set of ears that we respect, and he’s going to give us a different way to go but I don’t know what that is yet.”
One recording session for the album has already taken place and more will happen after the band finish their US tour in June.
