Madonna looks set to scoop her seventh number one album on the US Billboard Top-200 with ‘Hard Candy’.
The singer’s new album, which features Justin Timberlake, sold 100,000 copies on Tuesday (April 29th), its first day on sale, according to Neilson SoundScan.
If Madonna lands the top spot next week only Barbara Streisand will have claimed more chart topping albums in the US – the singer currently has eight to her name.
As previously reported, Madonna played a secret show in New York last night in support of her new album.
She was joined during her performance at the Roseland club by Justin Timberlake for a rendition of album track ‘4 Minutes’.
