Veteran broadcaster Terry Wogan’s breakfast show is still the United Kingdom’s most popular radio show, according to new figures.
Breakfast with Wogan, which broadcasts each weekday morning on BBC Radio 2, draws 8.1million listeners, while Radio 1’s Chris Moyles attracts 7.72million.
The figures, published by Radio industry body Rajar, show that Radio 2 is still the most popular radio station, with 13.63million listeners.
The list of the most popular radio stations was dominated by the BBC, with four of its stations featuring in the top five.
In London, the recently reunited partnership of Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan, who present a breakfast show together, failed to capture many new listeners.
The survery monitored listener details from January to March this year.
