Organisers are gearing up for tonight’s Brit Awards when the biggest names in British rock and pop descend upon London’s Earl Court.
Franz Ferdinand who top the list of nominees with being up for five gongs, will perform live on tonight.
The Scottish art-rockers will be hoping to continue the success of last year when they won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.
Robbie Williams will be also performing 'Angels' which (criminally) is up for the 25th Anniversary song award. No, us neither.
Other songs in the same category are Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’, Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions and bizarrely Will Young’s ‘Leave Right Now’.
Also performing tonight are the Bedingfields with duet of the Chaka Khan classic ‘Ain’t Nobody’, the Scissor Sisters and The Streets.
As previously reported on Gigwise, former Boomtown Rats frontman, and Band Aid Organiser Bob Geldof will receive the ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music Award’.
Speculation still surrounds whether Pete Doherty who is on the guest list will attend the ceremony. If he does he’ll have to be home by 10 o’clock to adhere to his curfew.
The awards, hosted by Chris Evans, commence at 7.30pm tonight and will be screened on ITV tomorrow (Thursday).
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a controversial outburst or two!
