Exclusive: Last Shadow Puppets Put Second Album Plans On Hold

Last Shadow Puppets, the collaboration between Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and Rascals singer Miles Kane, won’t start work on another album for at least a year.

The duo are currently at the top of the UK charts with their debut release, ‘The Age of the Understatement’.

Despite admitting that it was “very exciting” to be number one, Kane said that both members were now more focussed on their main bands.

Speaking exclusively to Gigwise, The Rascals singer did say that when work restarted on the Last Shadow Puppets the pair would once again team up with producer James Ford.

“We don’t know, we haven’t started writing it yet,” Kane said. “It will probably be in a year or two or something.”

The Rascals played two gigs in London last night in support of their debut album, which is released in June.

Kane said that the band planned on spending the summer playing festivals before returning to the studio to record their second offering in December.

“We’re going to try and get that out in March (2009),” Kane added.
