Nine Inch Nails have taken dramatic action to stop ticket touts (scalpers) at an upcoming US show by issuing tickets with the owner’s name printed on them.
The gig in Lexington, Kentucky on August 31 will be a litmus test for Trent Reznor and co. in their battle to prevent their fans being ripped off.
Those who legitimately purchase a ticket for the show will only be able to pick it up from the box office on the day of the gig. Once there they must produce positive identification which matches the name on the ticket.
Once fans have picked up their tickets, they will then be ushered straight into the show to prevent them passing on to unscrupulous people outside.
Presale for members of the Nine Inch Nails website begins today. There’s also a surprise announcement coming on the site at some point in the coming week, according to Mr Reznor.
