Actor Sean Penn Urges Coachella Crowd To Engage Themselves Politically

Hollywood actor Sean Penn urged music fans at the Coachella Festival yesterday (April 27th) to engage themselves more politically.

Penn told the crowd to join him on his Dirty Hands Caravan, which will promote political and environmental issues on a huge road trip to New Orleans.

“The government can't do it," Penn explained. "They can't save this thing."

The actor, who joked about feeling out of place at the festival, also used his speech to criticise the heavy loss of American life during the war in Iraq.

“For the 3,000 people we lost on 9/11, we've lost 4,000 in this war, and that's just American soldiers," Penn said.

"And why did we let it happen?" he asked. "It's simple: We let it happen."

Roger Waters, who perform Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ in its entirety at Coachella, also used his appearance to voice his political opinion.
