Last Shadow Puppets, the new side project of Alex Turner and Miles Kane, have topped the UK charts with their debut album, ‘The Age Of The Understatement’.
The duo toppled the Kooks, whose second album, 'Konk', fell to number two in the charts.
For 22-year-old Turner, the number one is his third chart–topping album in a row – the other two coming with the Arctic Monkeys.
Elsewhere in the album chart, the deluxe edition of Amy Winehouse’s second album ‘Back To Black’ climbed from twelve to ten following another traumatic week for the star.
In the singles chart, Madonna held on to number one for the second week in a row with her new single, ‘4 Minutes’.
The song, which features Justin Timberlake, is the first track off her new album, ‘Hard Candy’, which is released tomorrow (April 28th).
In a quiet week in the chart, the only other major new entry came from Wiley, whose single ‘Wearing My Rolex’, charted at number four.
