Longtime rivals G-Unit and The Game have retreated from a possible album showdown by changing the release dates of their new records.
G-Unit’s ‘T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight)’ and The Game’s ‘L.A.X’ had both been due for release on June 24th in America.
However, G-Unit will now release ‘T.O.S’ on July 1st, a week ahead of The Game’s new record.
Speaking to reporters, G-Unit leader 50 Cent claimed to have used his influence to move The Game’s album and denied that the showdown would have mirrored his album battle with Kanye West last year because “The Game is not Kanye”.
Retaliating, The Game told Billboard that he was releasing his album “on July 8th in order to clean up the mess 50 made with his new release on July 1st."
50 Cent’s ‘Curtis’ famously lost to Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ in a much hyped duel last September, with West claming the top spot in both the UK and America.
